Ilfracombe Golf Club sits above Hele Bay on the rugged North Devon Coast. Originally founded in 1892 as a 9-hole course near Mullacott Cross, it was relocated to its current dramatic clifftop position. Today, the club presents a highly unique 18-hole parkland challenge with views spanning the Bristol Channel, Welsh Coast, and Lundy Island from every tee box.

Our unique coastal micro-climate provides warm breezes and exceptional drainage, meaning we play all year round on standard greens with no mats, even during wet winter months.

Dress Code Regulations

We promote a modern, relaxed approach while maintaining respect for standard golf etiquette. These rules apply to all Members, Guests, and Visitors.

On The Course

  • Recognised golf shirts (with collars)
  • Ladies may wear sleeveless golf shirts
  • Tailored golf trousers or shorts
  • Recognised golf shoes (soft/hard spikes)
  • Golf hats worn peak forward

In The Clubhouse

  • Smart casual clothing permitted
  • No dirty, wet, or grass-stained golfwear
  • No flip-flops or slider style shoes
  • No athletic tracksuits or cycling leggings
  • No football or rugby shirts
